This ground breaking non-fiction book is masterfully written as a novel, with incredible character studies, particularly that of Perry Smith, later portrayed by Robert Blake in the <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061809/">1967 movie</a> of the same title. I haven't watched the movie yet, but I'm on the hunt for it right now, I will report after I watch it.<br /> In Holcomb, Kansas on November 15, 1959 the Clutter family was murdered in their home for "fifty dollars, a radio, and a pair of binoculars", by two men armed with a shotgun and a knife. <span style="font-style: italic;">In Cold Blood</span> tells the story of all involved, starting with introducing the ill-fated Clutter family.<br />This is a book that I did not put down until the last page was turned. I can't imagine how someone could possibly live in that home, but they do.
